Client background  

Nexacu was established in early 2013, to help businesses develop and automate Microsoft Excel models. In response to client demand they developed the Excel training offering shortly thereafter. Training became their passion. The following six years saw Excel Consulting rebrand to Nexacu, expand to all major cities across Australia, introducing over a dozen new courses and growing a team of professional trainers, dedicated researchers and in-house course creators. 

Project overview 

Since inception Nexacu had custom built their core business application which consisted of Content Management, Resource allocation and Course Management modules. The tech stack was built with WordPress, MySQL and PHP. While the existing tech stack had helped drive Nexacu’s exponential growth, the systems needed modernising and they were an inhibitor to future growth aspirations.   
 
After due consideration, the Nexacu management team decided to rebuild the application from scratch with a custom development solution.  Stage 1 involved developing the Requirements and designing a solution to ensure all functionality was documented. The Development of the project was split across two stages (2,3) and utilised an Agile software development approach. This allowed the team to be flexible and react to any changes in scope, requirements or direction. The team created two modules which included a new integrated Content Management System and a Course Management system.  The new application went into Production in 2019 with Lynkz providing further development support to enhance the application post release. 

Results

The new system addresses many of the previous system deficiencies particularly customer portal improvements, improved website speed, mobile responsiveness, efficient webpage template updates and content updates. A big improvement is the integration with self-service Power BI that allows management to further gain insights into their booking data and drive further business and operational improvement.
