An overview with AHM's experience with Lynkz building up their end-to-end vehicle purchasing solution.
Astra, the Indonesian division of Honda, sought Lynkz's assistance to revolutionise their Two-Wheeler division. The project aimed at developing an end-to-end solution covering all aspects of a two-wheeler vehicle purchase, from pre-sales to post-sales, including vehicle maintenance, parts purchasing, financials, and third-party collaborations. The challenge extended to training Astra's development teams on the construction processes and management of this large-scale microservices solution.
Lynkz's initial engagement involved conducting a boot camp training workshop, where we educated the Astra development team on microservices, architectural concepts, and best practices. This laid the foundation for the subsequent platform engineering phase, where Lynkz's solution architects provided oversight, facilitated problem-solving, and guided the teams in building the framework of the system.
As the project progressed, Lynkz's augmented staff played a crucial role in overcoming challenges faced by the development teams. The platform engineering team navigated through the flux within the teams, helping bridge the gap between experienced and inexperienced developers. The architectural framework for the system, led by a back-end and front-end specialist team, provided a solid foundation for the project.
While the platform engineering side experienced success, with the system operational in numerous offices, Astra faced aggressive timeframes for development. This, coupled with a substantial workload, would typically lead to significant setbacks, hindering sustainable project delivery. Fortunately, Lynkz's experience in working with the project proved invaluable.
Had this solution been built with a monolithic architecture, overcoming such hurdles and accommodating additional staff would have been impossible. However, due to the decision to adopt a microservices architecture early in the development process, additional capacity could be seamlessly integrated. This strategic choice enabled the team to overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and ensure project success without resorting to excessive overtime.
As a result, the ambitious goal of rolling out the platform across Indonesia began with initial success.
Lynkz's collaboration with Astra showcased the company's prowess in solution architecture and platform engineering. The successful implementation of a robust system highlighted Lynkz's ability to navigate challenges within development teams and provide a framework for large-scale projects. The case also underlines the importance of collaboration and effective communication in complex projects. As Lynkz continues to evolve, this case study serves as a testament to its commitment to delivering innovative solutions in the dynamic landscape of IT consulting.
